Wasting time

Everyone has a gift, I think mine is being able to waste a shed load of time. I spent the last 4 weeks at work playing solitaire on the computer when I should have been making bookings for my trip. Now I am not sure where I'll stay when I'm in Cusco waiting for the Inca Trail trek to start, but I am sitting here watching old Dawson's Creek, the ones after Jen arrives when Dawson and Joey are getting together. Ugh. If any one of the characters mentions how the tearing down of the local cinema is a metaphor for their self obsessed lives I will puke! The angst is too much.

I just can't empathise with Joey and Dawson and their star crossed lover status, maybe I am too old now and realise that just because you liked someone when you are 15 doesn't mean you will like them when you are 25 or 35.

And honestly, cinemas just get torn down because building apartment blocks make more money for the landlord.

Perhaps I despise the programme now because the things I liked when I was 15 are not the things I like now. (For example teenage angst and too many metaphors.)

Then again, I have seen the entire series and know that Joey sails off into the sunset (quite literally) with Dawson's best mate Pacey. Well, Pacey was the hot one in my opinion anyway. Which is beside the point entirely.

Anyway I am off to have lunch with my paternal parental units and then I better get on with that booking...

We all like to waste time so that we have something to be busy about when there's nothing to do!
